Site description:
The extensive town is surrounded by a mudbrick wall, which encloses the mudbrick houses and public buildings. The town also contains two temples dedicated to Soknopaios (a form of the crocodile god Sobek). These domestic structures contain a wide variety of artefacts including: fragmentary wall-paintings, pottery, agricultural equipment, fragmentary furniture, coins and papyri and ostraca in Demotic and Greek.
