Taieba

Site description:

The location of the cemetery is mentioned in the EEF site report as being near to Qamadir and was excavated for cartonnage, which was mostly poorly preserved. 

  • Taieba A is some distance south of the main cemetery and the graves range from the  late dynastic, Roman and Coptic periods. Cartonnage recovered is mainly papyrus and of poor preservation. 
  • Taieba B and C are two early and distinct Ptolemaic cemeteries located high on a plateau to the north.
  • Taieba D is located about half way between areas B, C and A, to the west.
